1. The short version

Every Wave 1 tool on toolsfree.app runs entirely in your browser. The files you drop in (PDFs, images, HEIC photos, text) are processed locally and never transmitted to our servers. We do not require an account, and we do not sell your data.

2. What we do not collect

  • We do not upload your files to our servers.
  • We do not retain the contents of files you process.
  • We do not require email addresses, names, or accounts to use any tool.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties.

3. What we do collect

We collect aggregate, anonymized usage analytics — such as page views and general device class — to understand which tools are useful. Analytics use privacy-respecting providers and IP-address truncation. We do not build user profiles, and we do not track you across other sites.

If you choose to make a one-time purchase, our payment processor (Dodo Payments) handles your card data directly. We receive a transaction record (amount, country, last four digits, license key) but never your full card number. See our payment processor's privacy notice for details.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use first-party local storage to remember non-personal preferences (such as your last-used tool settings). We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear local storage at any time through your browser settings.

5. AI model downloads

Some tools (notably the Background Remover) download an AI model from a public CDN the first time you use them. That request is logged by the CDN provider per its own policies. The model itself runs entirely on your device after download.

6. Children

toolsfree.app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Calculators that mention school grades (GPA) are designed for use by students with adult guidance.

7. US users and your rights

For California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut, and Utah residents: you have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information. 8. Changes

We may update this policy as our tools evolve. Material changes will be announced on the homepage and the “Last updated” date will change.
